Archery Tip of the week | The 9 tips to shooting tighter arrow groups with your bow
Sunset Coon Shoot – Archery Competition – December 12, 2014
The Fitchville Conservation League’s Archery Competition season began with a Sunset Coon Hunt on December 12th 2014 at 6:00 P.M. The competitors consisted of thirty archers from Huron, Wayne, Portage, Holmes and Franklin counties. Fifteen teams of two entered the competition alternating shooting and holding a flashlight. Compound and Recurve Bows were used shooting at McKenzie 3D targets. Everyone shot at 18 different targets ranging in distance from 5 yards to 30 yards from 6 different stations. The team of Denis Smith and Butch had a winning score of 304 out of 360 for a share of $75.
Club member Dan Hardwick was the event organizer for the club. Dan was assisted by club members John Kline, Wayne Kiser, Vaughn Thomas, Penny Rucker and Craig Murphy. The event ran from 6 P.M. to 10 P.M. on a chilly brisk evening. A team from Columbus were impressed with the program, the warm clubhouse and our friendly country hospitality.
